Chess coach partner programme
Your students review their games for free. When they decide to buy Pro, your code gives them 15% off their first Yearly or Lifetime payment and you earn 20% of what they pay.
How it works
- Apply below. If we accept, you get a personal code and a link such as
https://explainmychess.com/?ref=YOURCODE. - Share the link or the code. The link fills in the code at checkout; otherwise your student types it into the partner code box.
- When a student buys Yearly or Lifetime with your code, the sale is recorded for you.

The rules
- The programme covers the Yearly plan ($69) and the Lifetime plan ($149 early-bird). The Monthly plan is not included.
- A purchase made with your personal code or link gets 15% off the first payment. A Yearly plan renews at the regular price.
- You earn 20% of the amount the buyer actually pays, on the first payment only. Renewals do not count. The buyer does not have to be your student.
- A sale counts 30 days after the purchase, as long as it was not refunded.
- Sales are settled once a month. When your earnings reach $50, we pay you by PayPal or Wise.
- Your own purchases do not count.
- We may refuse or cancel sales and close accounts that involve cheating or fake orders.
- When you recommend Explain My Chess, say that you earn a commission on purchases made with your code or link.

How do I get a code?
Fill in the form below. We read every application, usually within a few days, and email you a personal code and link when you are in. There is nothing to pay.
How and when am I paid?
Sales are totalled once a month. A sale counts 30 days after the purchase, as long as it was not refunded. When what you have earned adds up to $50 or more, we pay you by PayPal or Wise. Below $50, the amount carries over to the next month.
Who can I recommend it to?
Anyone: students, club members, an audience, a friend. They do not need to be your student, and you do not need to be a titled coach.
Do I have to be a coach?
The programme is meant for chess coaches and teachers, including club organisers. Every application is reviewed.
Does my own purchase count?
No. Purchases made by you with your own code are not counted and the code does not work on an account that uses your email.
What about renewals and the monthly plan?
Only the first payment of a Yearly plan or the one-time Lifetime payment counts. Renewals are not counted, and the Monthly plan is not part of the programme.
What if someone gets a refund?
A refunded or disputed sale is not counted. A partial refund reduces your share in proportion.
Do I pay tax on what I earn?
Yes. You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings.
